prejuvenation laser

what is moxi?

MOXI is a non-ablative fractionated laser that creates tiny, microscopic holes in the top layer of skin to stimulate collagen and promote healing. For those that are familiar, think of it like a newer and more effective version of a  “Clear and Brilliant” treatment.

MOXI is one of our most versatile lasers, effective at treating all skin types and colors. Not only does it prevent and reduce the signs of aging, it also improves the appearance of fine lines, pore size, texture and discoloration. It’s known for being one of the most gentle laser treatments on the market, delivering big results with minimal downtime. Patients with every skin tone looking to lighten, brighten and refresh their appearance will love MOXI.

everyone! moxi can treat all skin types. it is ideal for patients interested in “pre-juvenation“, - simply meaning, clients who are just trying to "keep up" with their skin.
tHIS IS ALSO A FANTASTIC TREATMENT FOR PATIENTS WITH LITTLE PRE-EXISTING SKIN CONCERNS WHO ARE PREPARING FOR A BIG EVENT.

  • SMOOTHS ROUGH SKIN
  • LIGHTENS PIGMENTATIOn
  • safe on melasma

MOXI

how to prepare

  • Temporarily discontinue any retinols or acids for 3-5 days before your treatment.
  • Avoid using sunless tanners for at least 5 days before your booked treatment.
  • Contact us if you have had Accutane prescribed by a doctor in the previous 12 months.
  • for patients with melasma, we may prescribe a topical hydroquinone 2 weeks prior to your MOXI service if your melasma is significant.
  • Please inform us If you have a history of cold sores - a prescription anti-viral can be called in for you for prevention.

MOXI

what to expect

MOXI is so gentle it can be performed without anesthetic; however we typically apply a topical numbing cream to ensure maximum comfort. Since treatments leave behind minimal swelling, scabs or flakiness, it is often called the “perfect lunchtime facial.” Treatment times are usually 30-45 minutes and it is safe to reapply makeup the day after treatment. Your recommended treatment protocol will depend on your unique goals for your skin. Generally, for ideal results, patients will need a series of three MOXI treatments. Many patients choose to have a MOXI treatment once or twice a year to maintain results and keep a glowing complexion.

For the day following your treatment your skin may appear red and depending on your level of treatment you may see the small dots called “Mendz” where the laser was applied. As the microzones heal, they will darken and your skin may feel slightly rough. Between days 3-5 the dots will slough/fall off revealing the renewed skin beneath. Because this is a non-ablative fractionated treatment, the post care regimen is simple. Wear a moisturizing physical sunscreen and stay out of the sun. You may wear make-up 24 hours after your treatment.

Photofacial

ipl & bbl

what is a
 photofacial?

IPL/BBL or a “Photo-Facial” is a type of light therapy used to lighten and brighten your complexion by treating skin concerns and stimulating your body’s production of collagen. This innovative light therapy targets after those unsightly brown spots, and broken capillaries,. this treatment is great for rosacea, skin that flushes easily, discolored acne scarring or for the patient just looking for a smoother, more even skin tone.

This procedure is safest for people with light, untanned skin. Since melanin absorbs the light, olive or brown skin is at risk for burning. Safer skin rejuvenation options for people with darker skin types include Chemical Peels or MOXI Treatments.

  • Avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds.
  • don't use sunless tanners for 2 weeks prior to treatment.

  • discontinue products containing retinol, acids or scrubs 1 week prior.

photofacial

what to expect

once the skin is numbed and cleansed, we apply eye protection and a clear gel to the treatment area.

Once prepped, we perform a series of passes over the skin by applying flashes  of light. The light penetrates your skin to damage the pigment, tissue or blood vessels. Your body will work to repair the damage — reducing the appearance of the discoloration.

this treatment is often described as feeling like short "rubber-band" snaps and should be mildly uncomfortable with proper numbing.

IPL/BBL treatment is not technically a "laser treatment". It uses pulsed light instead of the more focused light of a laser. Laser treatments are a single wavelength, while BBL and ipl use a broad spectrum of light that we can filter several different ways to treat different conditions.

photofacial

Pigmentation: Pigment will temporarily darken and then slough off over the next 7-10 days post treatment. Once this process is complete, a noticeable difference in lessened pigmentation will be visible.
(1 - 3 treatments recommended )

Broken Capillaries: will appear blotchy and mildly pink for the first several days. Broken capillaries should begin to disappear within two weeks and gradually improve over the next couple of months. because blood vessels are deeper than sunspots, it may take three to five treatments to get rid of them entirely.
 (3-5 treatments reccommended)

Forever Clear

During a Forever Clear BBL™ treatment, patients feel minimal to no discomfort as the provider gently glides the BBL® HERO™ handpiece across the skin. This will involve 3 total passes of the device over the treatment area.

The first pass uses blue light to eliminate acne-causing bacteria located deep within the skin’s pores.

The second pass uses yellow light to reduce inflammation and acne-associated redness to give you healthy, luminous skin while preventing new breakouts.

For added benefit, the skin then receives a third pass of the BBL handpiece using infra-red light in rapid, gentle pulses to initiate the body’s natural healing process, reduce the appearance of existing scars, and enhance the benefits of the first two steps.

for optimal results, we typically recommend 4 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart. touch up treatments range from monthly to every 6 months dependent on severity of acne.

Forever Bare

This treatment uses the science of light to significantly reduce hair by targeting and injuring hair follicles without harming the surrounding skin.

Unlike traditional hair reduction devices that apply energy to an area all at once, Forever Bare BBL uses motion technology to deliver a low fluence in multiple pulses, protecting the skin while progressively raising the follicle temperature to the optimal level for hair removal.

At the same time, a sapphire plate on the hand piece provides continuous cooling, even at maximum power, to cool the skin before, during and after treatment. This technology for heating and cooling makes Forever Bare BBL safe, effective and comfortable for all skin types.

Erbium

fractional laser peel

what is erbium?

similar to a "light co2", the Erbium laser resurfacing peel is designed to remove superficial and moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face, hands, neck, and chest.

The Erbium laser results in a narrower area of heating of adjacent tissues compared with other laser skin-resurfacing methods. This results in a more focused removal of old skin cell layers. this means that a benefit of Erbium laser resurfacing is minimal burning of surrounding tissue and fewer side effects such as swelling, bruising, and redness, so the recovery time should be faster than with CO2 laser resurfacing.

erbium is a great option for the client interested in deeper resurfacing procedures that aren't quite ready for co2 or surgery.

erbium

  • helps Crepey Skin
  • softens "Crows Feet”
  • Softens "Smokers Lines”

  • immediately after treatment skin will feel warm and look pink/red. heat will subside after the first couple hours.
  • a topical barrier ointment will be applied post treatment and must be continued for 7 days post.
  • avoid direct sun exposure for 7 days.
  • skin will begin to slough/peel after the first 3-4 days. do not scratch, pick or rub the peeling areas.
  • we highly reccommed purcasing the alastin regenerating skin nectar to optimize healing and decrease downtime.
  • you may resume your normal skincare routine after 7 days with the exception of exfoliants and retinols which should be discontinued for 2 weeks post treatment.

Co2 Laser

what is a co2?

The CO2 Fractional resurfacing laser is a carbon dioxide laser which precisely removes deep outer layers of damaged skin and stimulates the regeneration of healthy skin underneath.

The CO2 treats fine to moderately deep wrinkles, photo damage, scarring, skin tone, texture, crepiness and laxity.

The CO2 laser goes deeper and has a different way of shrinking collagen than a Fraxel or erbium laser. Therefore, it generally gives a better result for deeper wrinkles, acne scars, peri-oral lines and crepeyness around the eyes. The CO2 is best for patients who are late 40s to 70s with moderate to deep wrinkles/sun damage or with moderate to severe acne scarring.

co2 treatments may be booked as "traditional" (roughly 2 weeks of downtime) or "deep" (2-3 weeks of downtime).

benefits

  • softens deep Wrinkles
  • treats under eye bags
  • tightens Crepey Skin
  • addresses moderate to severe acne scarring
  • softens lines around mouth
  • removes pre-cancer cells to minimize risk of skin cancer

  • treats an Uneven Skin Tone

  • If you have a history of cold sores, please inform us ahead of time, you will need a prescription for Valtrex to begin the day or two days before your treatment.

CO2

what to expect

the co2 procedure itself is typically described as feeling hot and "Prickly". most patients describe the worst feeling being the 30-45 minutes after the treatment is done as the skin will feel quite hot. ice packs will be applied as we wait for your skin to cool. once the heat has dissapated you will feel like you have a mild sunburn for the first 24-48 hrs.

it usually takes about 1 to 2 weeks for your skin to fully heal. Your skin will be very sensitive during this time. Follow the guidelines below to help your skin heal and prevent infection. we highly reccommend booking a series of celluma led and/or oxygen infusion treatments for comfort and optimal healing from this treatment,
